HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

Is your furnace not working like it should? Our technicians can help!

With regular maintenance, a heating system correctly installed in Toronto should last around 15 years. This is because the climate is cold for 8 months annually and furnaces have to work constantly during this period, which can affect its lifespan. However, the exact lifecycle of each furnace varies depending on various factors

Regular maintenance will help it work efficiently throughout the winter and avoid any potential problems. The importance of regular maintenance is not to be underestimated; fixing smaller issues can prevent them from becoming bigger, more costly problems. This kind of upkeep will help keep your heating system running well and save money in the long run.

Some common issues people come across are odd noises, lack of heat, and clogged filters. Our experts will do a thorough analysis to ensure it runs smoothly.
  • Clean and replace air filters

  • Ensure electrical connections are secure and verify system voltage.

  • Checking and oiling moving components is essential in order to ensure proper operation.

  • Ensure the condensate drain is free from obstructions and completely cleared.

  • Make sure the safety control systems are tested and adjusted to meet desired standards.

  • Make sure to check and adjust the thermostat as needed.

  • Ensure the blower system is free from any dirt or debris and properly functioning.

  • Ensure the burner and flame sensor are in the correct position and settings.

  • Make sure the flue is correctly ventilated.

On average, a well-maintained furnace should have a useful lifetime of 15-20 years. If your furnace is within these years and starting to experience issues, it may be time to consider a replacement. We will assess your current furnace and advise you on next steps.

REASONS FOR HVAC REPAIR INSTEAD OF REPLACEMENT

Before deciding if repair is the right option, it's important to assess the overall condition of your HVAC system. If it runs well and doesn't require too many repairs, then going ahead with a repair as opposed to replacing is more cost-efficient. However, it's essential to consider the age of your unit; if it is approaching the end of it's useful life, it may be time for a replacement.

  • When it comes to cost, repairing a newer system usually is the most viable option. As per the industry standards, new systems are considered less than five years old.

  • Consider the complexity of the repair - if it's relatively simple, then examine its potential to enhance home efficiency and decrease energy usage. If so, then the repair is likely the most desirable option.

When Should You Service Your Boiler?

Here are a few instances in which we would suggest servicing your water heater:

  • Schedule a service every 12 months

  • Moved to a new home? To ensure your safety, get the boiler checked as soon as you move in and make a note of the date for future reference. Don't forget to stick to the yearly check-up schedule too!

  • To attain the most optimal hot water supply, we typically urge that you drain and flush your water heater annually. This helps clear out any sediment build-up and guarantees that your home receives the best performance from your tank water heater
